Vietnam's men's volleyball team secures a spot at the 2027 AVC Cup after a historic SEA V Cup championship

The championship in the second leg of the 2026 SEA V Cup is not just a historic achievement for Vietnam's men's volleyball squad; it also secures their qualification for the 2027 AVC Cup, a competition that brings together the best teams from across Asia.

A historic championship brings Vietnam's men's volleyball to the continental stage

After a thrilling victory over Thailand in the second leg final, coach Trần Đình Tiền and his team officially became the third representative from Southeast Asia to compete in the 2027 AVC Cup.

Previously, Indonesia had already qualified as the champion of the 2026 AVC Cup, while Cambodia earned a spot by winning the first leg of the 2026 SEA V Cup. With Vietnam's triumph in the second leg, Southeast Asia will have three representatives competing at the continental tournament next year.

The list of Southeast Asian teams attending the 2027 AVC Cup includes: Indonesia – defending champions of the 2026 AVC Cup, Cambodia – winners of the first leg of the 2026 SEA V Cup, and Vietnam – winners of the second leg of the 2026 SEA V Cup.

Qualifying for the 2027 AVC Cup is a well-deserved reward for the efforts of Vietnam's men's volleyball in recent years. It will also be an opportunity for the team to compete against strong Asian opponents, while further asserting the rising status of Vietnamese volleyball on the international stage.
