The Vietnamese volleyball team receives a major boost ahead of the SEA V Cup 2026 final against Thailand

The Vietnamese men's volleyball team has just received a huge source of encouragement ahead of the second leg final of the SEA V Cup 2026 against Thailand, as the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV) awarded them a bonus of 300 million VND.

The bonus was announced by the VFV right after the emotional 3-1 win of coach Federico Rampazzo’s squad over the host Indonesia in the semifinals. This is seen as a well-deserved recognition of the impressive performance by the Vietnamese team against a side widely considered a top contender for the championship.

The victory over Indonesia not only earned Vietnam a spot in the final but also marked one of the most memorable results for the team in recent years. With their courageous fighting spirit and confident gameplay, Ngoc Thuan and his teammates overcame the pressure from the home crowd to create a major upset.

On its official page, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation sent congratulations to the entire team, while expressing hope that the players will maintain their form and high spirits in the final match of the tournament.

Vietnam’s opponent in the final will be Thailand, who defeated Cambodia 3-0 in the semifinals. Earlier in the group stage, Vietnam led Thailand 2-0 but still allowed the opponent to come back and win 3-2.

The rematch on the evening of July 26 promises to be highly exciting. With the boost from the 300 million VND bonus and the confidence gained from the win over Indonesia, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team now has a chance to make history by winning the SEA V Cup championship for the first time.
