Vietnam narrowly beats Myanmar, advances to semifinals of Stage 2 SEA V.Cup 2026

(Volleyball results) - Vietnam secured an important victory over Myanmar to officially claim the remaining spot in the semifinals of Stage 2 SEA V.Cup 2026 in Group B.

Set 1: Vietnam 25-19 Myanmar

The set saw the Vietnamese men's volleyball team make an impressive acceleration after a somewhat difficult start. Myanmar, though not as highly rated, played with great determination hoping to create a surprise and secure a semifinal spot. The position of middle blocker Kim Soe was very convincing and caused our defense many difficulties.

However, when the score was quite balanced, Myanmar suddenly made many unnecessary mistakes, widening the gap between the two sides. Ngọc Thuân also stepped up at the right time with important points to help us secure the victory in Set 1.

Set 2: Vietnam 25-23 Myanmar

The Myanmar players could only blame themselves for squandering opportunities in an unbelievable way and ultimately losing a bitter Set 2. The opposing team fought bravely, closely chasing from the start of the set and eventually took the lead in the acceleration phase, but victory ultimately belonged to Vietnam - somewhat luckily.
