The 2026 VTV Cup volleyball tournament is at risk of being postponed, affecting the preparations of the Vietnamese women's national team.

There is a high probability that the 2026 VTV Cup women's volleyball tournament will not happen according to the schedule, even though the organizing committee has not made any formal announcement yet.

According to the initial schedule, the tournament was to be held from August 8 to 15, featuring the Vietnamese women's volleyball team and several high-quality international guests, including Korabelka and Dinamo Anapa (Russia), Guangdong and Henan (China), King Whale (Chinese Taipei), Kuanysh (Kazakhstan), and Nakhon Ratchasima Qmin C VC (Thailand). However, in recent times, the option of postponing the event has been under consideration by the involved parties.

If this decision is approved, the preparation plans of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team will be significantly impacted. The team is currently training at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports, aiming for international tournaments this year.

One of the biggest challenges for the team is that the 2026 SEA V.Cup schedule nearly coincides with the VTV Cup. This forces the coaching staff to plan the allocation of players between the two competitions if both are held.

In the event that the VTV Cup goes ahead as planned, the team will need to arrange all key players to ensure good results at home. Conversely, if the tournament is postponed, the training curriculum and preparation roadmap of the team will certainly be adjusted accordingly.

The VTV Cup is an important annual tournament for Vietnamese women's volleyball. In the 2025 season, the Vietnamese team reached the final against Korabelka and finished as runners-up. The organizing committee is expected to announce the official decision regarding the 2026 VTV Cup soon.
