MB Border Guard becomes the first men's team to secure a spot in the 2026 Hoa Lu Cup final after defeating Hanoi 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-19) in the first semifinal match held on March 21st.
Under the guidance of coach Tran Dinh Tien, the military-uniformed team continued to display impressive form and the composure of the reigning champion. Despite Hanoi's determined efforts, MB Border Guard completely controlled the match with a solid and effective playing style.

Set 1 was quite balanced as Hanoi tried to keep pace, but decisive plays at crucial moments helped MB Border Guard win 25-21. Moving to Set 2, the match tilted entirely toward the military-uniformed team. With Ngoc Thuan shining alongside his teammates, MB Border Guard quickly built a large lead before closing the set with a decisive 25-14 score.
Set 3 continued to showcase MB Border Guard's superiority. Although Hanoi attempted to rally, the gap in skill prevented them from creating a surprise, leading to a 19-25 loss and an overall 0-3 defeat.
This convincing victory allows MB Border Guard to proudly advance to the final, affirming their position as the top contender for the championship. With stable performance and a balanced squad, coach Tran Dinh Tien and his players face a significant opportunity to successfully defend their title at this year's Hoa Lu Cup.
Tomorrow, the second semifinal between LPB Ninh Binh and Ho Chi Minh City Police will take place at 18:00.
