This will be a great chance for fans to watch the Vietnamese women's volleyball players compete and shine in person.
The Vietnam Volleyball Federation has confirmed that Vietnam will host the first leg of the 2026 SEA V.League, featuring the women's category. This information was shared by Mr. Le Tri Truong, Secretary General of the Vietnam Volleyball Federation (VFV), during an interview with SGGP.
According to Mr. Le Tri Truong, although there were earlier opinions suggesting Vietnam might be granted the right to host the men's leg instead of the women's in the 2026 season, the final decision from the Southeast Asian Volleyball Federation kept the plan to host the women's event unchanged.
From 2023 to 2025, the SEA V.League has been held annually with two legs for both men's and women's categories. Over the past three years, Vietnam has consistently hosted one leg of the women's competition. Notably, at the 2025 SEA V.League, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team won the championship for the first time in leg 2 with a historic victory over Thailand highlighted by the brilliant performance of Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen.
The SEA V.League uses a single round-robin format to determine final rankings and the champion in each category. In the women's category, teams regularly participating include Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Meanwhile, the men's category features Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Cambodia — a newcomer since the 2025 season.
Vietnam will host the first leg of the women's SEA V.League 2026, while the second leg will take place in Thailand. The VFV has yet to announce the exact venue as the schedule is still being finalized. The tournament is expected to be held in August 2026.
In previous hosting events, the VFV selected Vinh Yen Arena (Phu Tho) and Ninh Binh Arena as venues, both of which met the requirements for facilities and organizational conditions.
