Identifying the next tournament for Vietnam women's volleyball after SEA Games 33

Vietnam women's volleyball will keep competing in significant tournaments to confirm their standing within Asia and the region.

The AVC (Asian Volleyball Confederation) has announced the schedule for major tournaments under its management for the year 2026. It promises to be a busy season for the Vietnam women's volleyball team.

The first competition for Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt's team after SEA Games 33 is the AVC Nations Cup 2026, taking place in Candon, Philippines in June. We are currently facing the opportunity to win this event for the fourth consecutive time with a dominant performance against opponents such as Kazakhstan, the Philippines, and Chinese Taipei.

August to September will be a very demanding period for the Vietnam women's volleyball team. Trần Thị Thanh Thúy and her teammates will compete in the 2026 Asian Championship held in Tianjin, China from August 21 to 30. This event is memorable for Vietnamese women's volleyball as we previously defeated South Korea and finished in the top 4 in 2023, marking the start of a strong rise in recent years.

From September 16 to 22, the Vietnam women's volleyball team will participate in the 20th ASIAD (Japan). Additionally, there are other tournaments with schedules yet to be announced, such as two legs of the SEA V.League, the VTV Cup, or friendly events like Shanghai Future Stars, etc.

It will be a busy year but also a great chance for the players to gain experience and learn from top opponents.

For Vietnam men's volleyball, the main focus will remain on two competitions: the AVC Nations Cup and the SEA V.League.

Vietnam volleyball has achieved numerous successes in the past three years, especially with the women's team. Coach Nguyễn Tuấn Kiệt and his players have risen significantly in the world rankings—reaching 22nd place; finishing in the top 4 at the Asian Championship and ASIAD; winning the AVC Nations Cup three consecutive years; earning the bronze medal at the 2024 FIVB Challenger Cup; securing two silver medals at the SEA Games; qualifying for the World Championship for the first time in history; and notably winning the second leg of the 2025 SEA V.League with an unforgettable victory over Thailand.
