Trần Thị Thanh Thúy stands out as the most prominent player in Vietnamese women's volleyball at this year's SEA Games 33.
Outside hitter Trần Thị Thanh Thúy excellently fulfilled her role at SEA Games 33 in Thailand, playing a major part in helping Vietnam's women's volleyball team reach the gold medal match for the fourth consecutive time.
After SEA Games 2025, Thanh Thúy will temporarily leave the national team as this is the last national-level event of 2025. However, unlike most teammates, "4T" will continue her career at the club level.
On December 19, Thanh Thúy arrived in Japan - where she is currently playing for the Gunma Green Wings club. The 1997-born attacker will soon begin training with the team to prepare for upcoming matches in the Japanese National Championship next week.
Before leaving Japan to participate in the SEA Games, Thanh Thúy showed outstanding performance, being the second-highest scorer for her club after Olivia Rozanski, and ranking among the top 15 scorers in the league. These excellent performances were carried by the national team captain into this year's Southeast Asian Games - "4T" scored 54 points in just 3 matches, an impressive efficiency.
It is Thanh Thúy's talent that helped Vietnam's women's volleyball team reach the gold medal match for the fourth straight SEA Games. Unfortunately, "4T" and her teammates suffered a heartbreaking defeat against host Thailand after an intense and dramatic 5-set match.
Besides Thanh Thúy, another national team player heading to Japan is Trần Thị Bích Thủy, who plays for the Okayama Seagulls. Additionally, Vi Thị Như Quỳnh will travel to Indonesia to start her first overseas career with the Medan Falcons.
