Set 1: Thailand 25-20 Philippines
An exciting set was produced by Thailand and the Philippines. Thailand demonstrated balanced performance across positions with Kissada, Napadet, Anurak, Anuchit, and Boonyarid all playing excellently, except Chaiwat who made several errors, while the Philippines continued to rely on young talent Ordiales and lacked more effective attacking options, gradually falling behind the hosts.
Captain Bagunas tried to support Ordiales but it was too late. Napadet finished the set with a powerful spike, sealing a 25-20 win for Thailand in the first set.
Set 2: Thailand 25-19 Philippines
The second set remained challenging for the Philippines as their secondary attackers almost disappeared, while Thailand continued to assert their superior strength. The hosts’ excellent offense and defense nearly ended the match for the visitors. The ticket to the final was getting very close for Kissada and his teammates.
Set 3: Thailand 25-21 Philippines
With a relaxed mindset thanks to a 2-0 lead, Thailand played casually but still easily achieved what they needed, at one point creating nearly a 10-point gap.
The hosts then became somewhat complacent, allowing the Philippines to rally strongly in the final points, but it was still too little.
Final result, Thailand defeated Philippines 3-0 (25-20; 25-19; 25-21) to advance to the men's indoor volleyball final at SEA Games 33, facing Indonesia. Vietnam will play the Philippines in the bronze medal match.
