Today, December 13, marks the first competition day for men's indoor volleyball at SEA Games 33. The highlight will be Vietnam's opening match against neighboring Laos. Facing an opponent not highly rated, Vietnam is likely to have an easy game, and coach Trần Đình Tiền will probably rotate the squad, giving chances to new talents to shine.

The women's indoor volleyball schedule continues with the 5th to 7th place classification match between Singapore and Myanmar. Vietnam's women's team will only play their semifinal against the Philippines tomorrow, December 14.

Indoor volleyball at SEA Games 33 runs from December 10 to 19 at the Indoor Stadium Huamark in Bangkok's capital. This venue is well-known to Asian fans, having hosted many major regional and international tournaments.

With Cambodia's withdrawal, seven countries will compete in men's and women's indoor volleyball at SEA Games 2025, including:

• Men's: Thailand (host), Vietnam, Laos, Singapore, Philippines, Myanmar, Indonesia (current champion)
• Women's: Thailand (host and reigning champion), Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar.

Teams will be divided into two groups, with the top two from each group advancing to the semifinals to compete for the prestigious gold medal. Additionally, classification matches for 5th to 7th places will be held for the remaining teams.
