An impressive record was just established by Trần Thị Thanh Thúy's teammate at the SV.League 2025-2026 last weekend.
Nasya Dimitrova, a middle blocker for Gunma Green Wings, has created an unprecedented record in the Japanese Women's Volleyball National Championship (SV.League).
Specifically, in the match between Gunma Green Wings and Victorina Himeji on December 7th (Vietnam time), Nasya Dimitrova successfully made 11 blocks, becoming the first player to reach this number in a single match in the women's SV.League. She was also the third highest scorer for Gunma in this game with 20 points, following Olivia Rozanski (29 points) and Minami Takaso (22 points).
However, despite this remarkable achievement, Dimitrova and her teammates were unable to secure a victory, losing narrowly 2-3 to Victorina Himeji. This was the first defeat for the blue-clad team after a streak of 7 consecutive wins in the Japanese National Championship, yet the single point gained helped coach Masayasu Sakamoto's squad maintain their position in the top 5.
In the two matches against Himeji last weekend, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy did not play as she was training with the Vietnam women's volleyball team preparing for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. She is expected to return to the Japanese National Championship on December 28th in the match between Gunma Green Wings and Ageo Medics.
Trần Thị Thanh Thúy, Olivia Rozanski, and Nasya Dimitrova are the three foreign players for Gunma Green Wings this season, among whom Thanh Thúy and Dimitrova were former teammates at Kuzeyboru (Turkey). Bringing in these three high-quality foreign players compared to last season has helped Gunma improve significantly, achieving 11 wins and 7 losses.
