The top 10 scorers at the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship in Bangkok, Thailand, have been announced, with Asia contributing three players, all from Japan's women's national team.
Turkey's star Melissa Teresa Vargas led the entire tournament with 151 points, securing the top scorer title. Brazil’s outside hitter Gabriela Braga Guimaraes ranked second with 142 points, followed closely by Japan’s Mayu Ishikawa with 141 points, marking the first time Japan entered the ranks of the world's most formidable scorers.
The remaining players in the top 10 are Paola Egonu (Italy, 129 points), Héléna Cazaute (France, 109 points), Yukiko Wada (Japan, 100 points), Yoshino Sato (Japan, 100 points), Iman Ndiaye (France, 95 points), Isabelle Haak (Sweden, 95 points), and Julia Bergmann (Brazil, 94 points).
In Southeast Asia, Pimpichaya Kokram was the top scorer for the host nation Thailand with 74 points. For Vietnam, with Nguyễn Thị Bích Tuyền absent, outside hitter Vi Thị Như Quỳnh stood out with 35 points, followed by captain Trần Thị Thanh Thúy with 29 points.
The tournament concluded on September 7th with Italy crowned as champions. Turkey finished as runners-up in their first final appearance, while Japan placed fourth after losing to Brazil in the bronze medal match.
