Former Polish women’s volleyball player Paulina Maj-Erwardt believes that Poland has been placed in an easy group at the 2025 World Championship.
The Vietnamese women’s volleyball team will face Poland today (August 23, 8:30 PM) in their opening match at the 2025 Women’s Volleyball World Championship. Coach Tuấn Kiệt’s team is in Group G with Kenya, Germany, and Poland. Before the match, Polish volleyball star Paulina Maj-Erwardt (38 years old) made a confident statement.
"To be frank, we are in an easy group," acknowledged former Polish volleyball player Paulina Maj-Erwardt. She plays as a libero and earned third place at the 2009 European Championship with Poland’s national team.
Paulina Maj-Erwardt achieved third place in Europe with the Polish women’s volleyball team in 2009.
Maj-Erwardt stated: "Even the German team right now is not a very threatening opponent, although they are the strongest in the group. Everything suggests we will meet Italy in the quarterfinals – a team that is playing very well."
Poland’s national team is expected to face Italy in the knockout round. "No team is unbeatable, but Italy showed their power by defeating us 3-0 in the most recent Nations League semifinal. The coaching staff will definitely analyze thoroughly to find tactical solutions. But it will be a very tough match," emphasized Maj-Erwardt.
