Vietnamese Women's Volleyball Team Travels to South Korea for Competition

The Duc Giang Chemical Club will take part in the Kovo Cup 2025 in South Korea, considering it a chance to gain experience and get ready for the national league.

The Duc Giang Chemical Lao Cai women's volleyball team has confirmed their participation in the Kovo Cup 2025, held from September 21 to 28 in Seoul, South Korea. This annual tournament features eight teams, with Duc Giang Chemical being the only international guest team this year.

The coaching staff stated they will bring their strongest lineup aiming to gain experience, accumulate skills, and assess their performance after training. Currently, coach Nguyễn Hữu Hà and his team are training at Đông Anh Sports Hall (Hanoi) to prepare for this special competition.

The Kovo Cup 2025 gathers seven teams from the South Korean women's volleyball league: Suwon Hyundai E&C Hillstate, Daejeon Jungkwanjang Red Sparks, GS Caltex Seoul KIXX, Hwaseong IBK Altos, Incheon Heungkuk Life Pink Spiders, Gimcheon Korea Expressway Hi-Pass, and Gwangju Pepper Savings Bank.

The presence of Duc Giang Chemical promises exciting matches as they face top clubs from the continent. Notably, GS Caltex Seoul KIXX, featuring outside hitter Trần Thị Bích Thủy who played for Duc Giang Chemical earlier this year, is among the participants.

Duc Giang Chemical women's volleyball team is currently the national runner-up. After the first phase of the 2025 National Championship, the team ranks fifth, falling short of their goals. However, the second phase still offers many opportunities for them to break through and compete for the title.

Participation in the tournament in South Korea is considered an important warm-up, helping players develop international match toughness, learn modern playing styles and speed from strong opponents, thereby boosting their confidence for the domestic league return.

The team’s management believes this trip holds not only professional significance but also provides young players with valuable experience, while key players will be tested against high-level competition.
