Trần Thị Thanh Thúy demonstrates her elite level while training in preparation for the match against Poland at the 2025 World Championship.

Thanh Thúy and her teammates are training hard as they prepare for their opening match against Poland at the 2025 Volleyball World Championship. The "4T" has just received very encouraging news.

Thanh Thúy ranks only behind a single star from the Polish national team.

It is quite surprising that according to the latest ranking from Volleybox, outside hitter Trần Thị Thanh Thúy is placed 15th among the world’s best female volleyball players in 2025.

Equally unexpected is that 13 out of the 14 stars Poland brought to Thailand for the 2025 World Volleyball Championship do not feature among the top-ranked female volleyball players worldwide in 2025.

Trần Thị Thanh Thúy is ranked 15th among the world’s best female volleyball players in 2025, only behind one Polish player at the World Championship, middle blocker Korneluk (ranked 11th globally).

Their squad includes seven players who are 1.90m or taller: two outside hitters Czyrnianska (1.93m) and Lukasik (1.90m), two setters Stysiak (2.03m) and Smarzek (1.91m), and three middle blockers Korneluk (2.0m), Gryka (1.90m), and Stefanik (1.91m).

However, six of these seven stars, along with seven other Polish players competing at the 2025 World Volleyball Championship, rank below Thanh Thúy in the latest Volleybox standings.

The 1.90m tall hitter from Vietnam’s women’s volleyball team is ranked only behind the veteran 2m tall middle blocker Korneluk from Poland, who holds the 11th position among the world’s best female volleyball players in 2025.

The Volleybox ranking is only for reference, but this result is quite surprising because the Polish players are all top-class stars, and Poland is currently ranked third in the world according to the FIVB rankings.

Thanh Thúy and her teammates from the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team had their first training session in Thailand on August 21 to prepare for the match against Poland. They will have another practice on August 22 before playing Poland on August 23.
