She is preparing alongside her teammates to face Poland at the Volleyball World Championship. There is a unique detail about her that few are aware of.
Among the Vietnamese women’s volleyball players competing at the 2025 World Championship, Nguyễn Thị Trinh is one of two players (along with Lê Thanh Thúy) who will meet Poland’s talented opposite hitter Lukasik for the second time.
Lukasik is 1.90 meters tall and one of seven players on the Polish team who are 1.90 meters or taller participating in the 2025 World Championship in Thailand.
Poland is the first opponent Vietnam will face in Group G, before matches against Germany and Kenya.

An interesting fact is that Nguyễn Thị Trinh previously competed against Lukasik at the 2024 Women’s Club Volleyball World Championship. The Vietnamese volleyball star, despite being only 1.80 meters tall, played very confidently and achieved impressive results against the 1.90-meter-tall Polish opposite hitter.
That match was between LPBank Ninh Bình and Imoco at the 2024 Women’s Club Volleyball World Championship. Although Ninh Bình quickly lost 0-3 to Italy’s top club, Nguyễn Thị Trinh had a very good individual performance.
The middle blocker from LPBank Ninh Bình scored 7 points against Imoco, the team that later won the world championship. Trinh "điện" was the second highest scorer for Ninh Bình in the match against Lukasik’s Imoco, only behind Bích Tuyền. Of the 7 points Nguyễn Thị Trinh scored against Imoco, 5 were attacks and 2 were blocks.
Scoring 7 points against the world champions, who have a roster full of top stars like Imoco, is a true achievement, especially since Nguyễn Thị Trinh faced blockers and attackers on the other side who are much taller than her. To understand the caliber of Ninh Bình’s middle blocker, it is worth noting that Lukasik also scored only 7 points in this match, equaling Trinh "điện".
After playing for Imoco and winning the 2024 Women’s Club Volleyball World Championship with them, Lukasik left Imoco in 2025 to join Galatasaray, another well-known volleyball club competing in the Turkish national league.
On August 23rd, Nguyễn Thị Trinh will meet Lukasik again when the Vietnamese women’s volleyball team competes against Poland in the 2025 Volleyball World Championship.
