The 2025 FIVB Women's Volleyball World Championship is the most prestigious international volleyball tournament for national teams, taking place from August 22 to September 7 across four cities in Thailand: Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Phuket.

After the group stage (a single round-robin format with points), the top two teams from each group advance to the knockout rounds, which include the round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and final to determine the champion. There are no placement matches except for the bronze medal match.

The 2025 World Championship marks a historic milestone for Vietnam women's volleyball as it is their first appearance at this prestigious event. Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team qualified for Thailand by finishing in the top 4 at the 2023 Asian Championship. Meanwhile, three newcomers—Sweden, Slovenia, and Slovakia—earned their spots based on their FIVB rankings.

The reigning world champion is Serbia, who defeated Brazil 3-0 in 2022. Serbia's star player, Tijana Boskovic, is the current MVP of the tournament.
