Zheng Qinwen refreshed the best ranking to fourth, and surpassed his predecessor Li Na again!

With Wimbledon 2025 just around the corner of the month, the top players are warming up for the annual Grand Slam on grass, with the Queen's Cup at the top of last week's grass-court tournament.

As the tournament's top seed, Zheng Qinwen enjoyed a first-round bye and defeated American player Kessler and British star Raducanu to reach the semi-finals of a grass-court tournament for the first time in his career.

However, in the semi-finals against American player Anisimova, Zheng Qinwen finally lost in three sets. The Women's Singles title was won by German veteran Maria, who made it from the qualifying round and performed a miracle.

Maria, who is about to turn 38 in two months, also won the heaviest women's singles title of her career at the Queen's Cup. Of course, grass has always been the type of court that Maria excels at, having reached the semi-finals of the women's singles at Wimbledon back in 2022.

Despite missing out on reaching the Queen's Cup final, Zheng continued to refresh his best ranking this week with 195 points from the semi-finals, with Zheng Qinwen finishing fourth in the world last week and setting a new personal best.

This is also the first time that a player in Chinese tennis has reached the top 4 in singles after more than ten years.

On the other hand, this week is the 13th week that Zheng Qinwen has been ranked in the top 5 in the world and the 73rd consecutive week in the top 10. Zheng Qinwen's consecutive top 10 weeks have surpassed Li Na's 71 weeks in the 2011-2012 season, and if she can maintain her hand, it is just around the corner to surpass Li Na's record of 117 weeks set between August 13, 2012 and November 9, 2014.

Zheng Qinwen is seeded No. 5 in the Women's Singles in Berlin this week, and her first-round opponent is former Wimbledon Women's Singles champion Rybakina, and the draw is also quite tough, with the winner of the two facing either Tomova or Siniakova.

"Zheng Qinwen is very aggressive and he has a good first week of the grass season, so I have a hunch that it will be a tough match, and of course I will give it my all to win." Rybakina said this as she looked ahead to the first-round matchup.

Back in the world rankings, behind Zheng Qinwen, the current second sister of China's Jinhua is still Wang Xinyu, who is ranked 49th this week, and after her, they are:

No.84 Yuan Yue

No.125 Wang Yafan

No.126 Zhang Shuai

No.131 Wei Sijia

No.149 Gao Xinyu

No.163 Wang Xiyu

Judging from this latest ranking, there is still a certain gap between the top 100 players of the Chinese Legion and the peak. In Men's Singles, Buyun Chaokert continues to hold the top spot in China, and he is ranked 69th in the world this week.

Shang Juncheng and Zhang Zhizhen, who have been absent from the tour for a long time, are ranked second and third respectively, and the specific rankings are as follows:

No.69 Buyun Chaoket

No.76 Shang Chengcheng

No.88 Zhang Zhizhen

No.227 Bai Yan

No.246 Sun Fa Jing

No.283 Wu Yixuan

No.296 Cui Jie

No.299 Zhou Yi(Source: Tennis House Author: Barbie)
