On June 14, German tennis legend Stefi Graf celebrated his 56th birthday. One of the greatest players in the history of women's tennis, Graf had an accomplished career, and after retiring from football, she formed a loving family with Agassi and began another chapter in her life.
Graf has had a perfect career. In 1982, at the age of 13, Graf entered professional tennis. Five years later, she reached the top of the world number one for the first time in 1987 and has held the ball for 377 weeks, a record that has only been surpassed by the men's player Novak Djokovic. 1988 was her best season – winning gold medals at all four Grand Slams (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open) and the Seoul Olympics, becoming the only single season Golden Slam winner in tennis history, all of which she achieved at the age of 19.
Graf is known for her sharp forehand attack and excellent running ability, and is known as the "Queen of the Forehand". She has won 107 singles titles in her career, including 22 Grand Slam singles titles (second only to Serena Williams' 23), and has been dominant on clay, grass and hard courts. In 1999, she retired from winning the French Open, ending a 17-year career at the age of 30, leaving a benchmark in tennis that is difficult to surpass.
Graf fell in love with Andre Agassi, the famous "blonde prodigal son" of tennis, and the two married in 2001, becoming the most famous "champion couple" in tennis. Despite their very different personalities – Graff is low-key and introverted, Agassi is enthusiastic and outgoing, but their marriage is always solid. The two have a son and a daughter, and the family of four lives in Las Vegas, away from the media spotlight and enjoying a peaceful life.
Graff occasionally appears at tennis events, such as exhibition matches or Grand Slam veteran tournaments, but she is more focused on family and philanthropy. Together with Agassi, she founded the Graf Agassi Children's Foundation, which aims to improve the education and living conditions of underprivileged children. In addition, she is an ambassador for the German Tennis Association and contributes to the promotion of youth tennis.
Today, although Graf is far away from the game, her influence has never faded, and her name is always mentioned by fans along with famous players such as Celes and Navratilova. As a wife and mother, she also writes the second half of her life with grace and wisdom.
On this special day, tennis fans around the world wish the legend their best wishes for the countless iconic moments she has brought to her and wish her continued happiness in this new chapter of her life. Happy Birthday, Steffei! (Source: Tennis Home Author: Mei)
