WTA London: Raducanu beats Buksa and Wimbledon champion Krejcikova knocks out in the first match

On June 10, local time, the first round of the women's singles at the 2025 WTA500 London Station was over. Local favourite Raducanu eased out qualifier Buksa 6-1, 6-2 to advance to the second round. She will face Slovakia's Schramkova for a place in the quarter-finals, who beat seventh seed and last year's Wimbledon women's singles champion Krejcikova 6-4, 6-3.

Elsewhere on home, Usain Bolt beat qualifier Tomjanovic 7-6(4), 1-6, 6-4 to set up a first-round win over fifth seed Schneider, who beat Fresch 6-4, 6-1 in the first round. Wildcard Qatar defeated Kasatkina 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 and will face eighth seed Anisimova across the net. Qualifying winner Watson knocked out Putintseva 6-4, 6-3 to secure a win for the homegrown players against fourth seed Rybakina.


China's Zheng Qinwen, the top seed, has a first-round bye and will face American sensation Kessler, who advanced with a 6-2, 6-4 win over homegrown wildcard F. Jones in the first round.
