The French Open is ranked No. 8 seed, Zheng Qinwen is here!

In a nearly three-and-a-half-hour Women's Singles semi-final, China's Zheng Qinwen faced American ace Gauff and lost 6-7(3) 6-4 6-7(4) to miss out on this year's Rome Women's Singles final.

After the game, Zheng Qinwen bluntly said that there was no big gap between himself and Gauff, but he didn't handle a few key points.

"It's a game that I've learned a lot and it's good for preparing for the French Open, so I have to be a little bit bolder and more aggressive at times."

The annual French Open tennis tournament will be the biggest task for Zheng Qinwen, who will also be seeded No. 8 at Roland Garros, with Sabalenka and Gauff continuing to be the top two seeds.

2022 was the year that Zheng Qinwen went all out on the professional tour, and this year she was an unseeded player at the French Open, beating Zaniewska in straight sets in the first round, and then knocking out [19] Halep and Cornet in quick succession to advance to the Women's Singles round of 16.

The opponent in the 1/8 finals was the top seed Swiatek in the tournament, and Zheng Qinwen also showed a good hand throughout the match, and finally lost to the opponent in three sets, and missed the chance to go further, and the latter finally won the women's singles crown that year.

Fast forward to the 2023 season, this year Zheng Qinwen has become the No. 19 seed in the French Open women's singles, and after knocking out qualifier Zidansek in the first round, she lost to Kazakhstan's Putintseva in three sets in the second round and stopped in the second round.

Zheng Qinwen reached the final of the Australian Open at the beginning of the year and finished runner-up at the beginning of the year, switching to Roland Garros, where she was the seventh seed in the tournament and faced local wildcard Cornet in the first round, and Zheng Qinwen finally advanced 6-2 6-1.

In the second round, Zheng Qinwen still finished the match in two clean sets (6-2 6-2) against Germany's Kopacz, but was eliminated in the third round by Avagne, and missed out on the French Open Women's Singles round of 16 (the latter was eliminated in the 1/8 finals by Italy's Paulini, who eventually reached the Women's Singles final and lost to Swiatek).

After being eliminated by Potapova in the first match in Madrid, Zheng Qinwen moved to Rome to defeat Danilovic, Freshi and Andreescu in succession, and defeated Sabalenka for the first time in his career in the fourth round, taking the first win of the two of their seven meetings so far.

Despite a hard-fought defeat to Gauff in the semi-finals, the defeat gave Zheng more time to rest and prepare for the French Open, so do you think she can set a new personal best record at Roland Garros this year?(Source: Tennis House Author: Barbie)
