Spanish striker Sergio Ramos announced on social media that he will retire this season.

"In the last few months, I felt like my body couldn't perform at its best, so it was time to accept that my career was over. My mind wants to keep going, it loves tennis and the game, but my mind says that everything has an end and you better accept it.

"New challenges and dreams will come. I'm not ready to say where I'm going to play my last tennis match, it's a tough decision, but I'm sure it's going to be my last season. All these years have been incredible: tough losses, big wins, tough times, because I'm always hungry for more, friends all over the world, a loyal team by my side...... Overall, it was better than I had ever dreamed. ”

"Thank you, I feel your support. Now it's time to enjoy the last game. See you on the pitch as always. Ramos wrote.

The Spaniard made his tour debut in Barcelona in 2010 and won ATP Tour titles in Bastad, Gstaad, Estoril and Córdoba. Ramos reached a career-high No. 17 in the ATP rankings in May 2017 and has eight top-10 victories against the world's top 10, including victories over Federer and Murray.
