Acre was dissatisfied with the PTPA indictment mentions himself: does not support the lawsuit, surprised to be used as an example

Alcaraz has given a candid opinion on the lawsuit by Djokovic's Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) against the existing tennis governing body. Although the name of the Spaniard appears in the 163-page document, he made it clear that he does not support the move.

On the eve of the Miami Open, the PTPA took shocking action to file lawsuits against the ATP, WTA, ITF and ITIA (International Tennis Integrity Agency) in New York, Brussels and London. The PTPA accused these institutions of operating in a manner similar to "cartels" (monopolies), and its executive director, Ahmad Nassar, was even more outspoken about the way tennis operated under the governance of these institutions as "illegal".

Interestingly, Alcaraz's name appears in the document, along with Swiatek and Gauff, in the section on player complaints about the tour's schedule. The document quotes Alcaraz, who said that too many mandatory events "will destroy us in a way".

However, Alcaraz revealed that he was caught off guard by the "surprising" lawsuit, which he only learned about on social media. In his pre-match press conference at the Miami Open, the Spaniard said he didn't even know his words would be included in the document.

"To be honest, this incident came as a surprise to me because no one told me anything, I just saw it on social media. Yesterday, I saw a statement on social media...... They quoted what I said at the press conference, and I had no idea about it. Alcaraz said.

While Alcaraz, who is ranked third in the world, admitted that he agrees with some aspects of the lawsuit, he stressed that he does not support or endorse the move. "There are some things that I agree with and some things that I disagree with. But most importantly, I do not support this lawsuit. That's it. He added.

Now, Alcaraz's attention has turned to the opening match of the Miami Open, where he and Djokovic are both hoping to win their first ATP Masters 1000 title of the season. Alcaraz will face Goffin in the opening match of the Miami Open after a first-round bye, with their current head-to-head record at 1-1, with Goffin winning 7-5 6-3 at the 2022 Astana Open.

If advanced to the third round, Alcaraz will face the winner between Brandon Nakashima and Caballes Baena. Subsequently, he could meet Kyrgios or Dimitrov in the fourth round; In the quarterfinals, his potential opponents include Tommy Paul and Ruud.

If Alcaraz advances to the semi-finals of the Miami Masters, he could face fourth-seeded Novak Djokovic, provided the Serb can beat Alex Michelson, Aliassime and Medvedev in his quarter-finals.(Source: Tennis Home Author: Spark)
