Get to know the new Masters champion Draper in a minute

Jack Draper, born on December 22, 2001, is 1.93 meters tall and can be called a bright star in British professional tennis. At the 2024 US Open, he made it to the semifinals of a Grand Slam tournament with his outstanding performance, which was eye-catching. On the ATP Tour, Draper has already won three trophies. In particular, at the 2025 Indian Wells Open, an ATP Masters 1000 event, he won the tournament with a number of strong opponents such as Fonseca, Brooksby, Fritz, Shelton, Alcaraz and Rune, which is undoubtedly a major milestone in his career. With his impressive performances on the field over the past 12 months, Draper climbed to No. 7 in the world rankings on March 17, 2025, demonstrating his prowess and immeasurable potential for the future.

Draper has won five titles at the ATP Challenger and has also excelled on the ITF Tour, winning seven titles. As early as his teenage years, he rose to prominence. At Wimbledon 2018, Draper reached the junior Grand Slam final for the first and only time, and although he unfortunately lost to Zeng Junxin in three sets, he still achieved remarkable results as a teenager, reaching a maximum of 7th in the world in the junior ranking. It is worth noting that although Draper is naturally right-handed, he chooses to hold a left-handed racket in tennis, and this unique style of play gives his backhand the power of a forehand, which has become a major winning weapon on the court.

Draper was born in Sutton, London, and grew up in Ashtide, Surrey. His family was a strong influence on the sporting world, with his father, Roger Draper, former chief executive of the British Sports Council and Lawn Tennis Association, and his mother, Nicky Draper, a former British junior tennis champion. With such a family environment, it seemed logical for Draper to embark on the path of professional tennis.

In life, Draper is a big fan of Manchester United, and he has a penchant for rap music, showing a colourful personal life off the pitch.
