Still, the Italian tennis star continues to show his supremacy on the Tour during the period when his arch-rival Carlos Alcaraz is sidelined with injury.

The latest ATP Tour statistics have revealed a major surprise regarding Jannik Sinner. Although he is the world number one and has just successfully defended his Wimbledon title, the Italian star is ranked only 35th in first serve percentage among players on the ATP Tour.

This figure indicates that there are still aspects of his game that Sinner can continue to improve, despite the fact that he has been dominating men's tennis for over a year.

After his loss to Carlos Alcaraz in last year's US Open final, Sinner once revealed that he would adjust his serving technique to become more unpredictable and consistent. The 2001-born player believes that even small changes can make a big difference in high-level matches.

In reality, those adjustments have proven effective as Sinner has gone on to win major titles, including Wimbledon. However, looking specifically at first serve percentage, he only achieves 63.8%, which is significantly lower than the leader Alexander Zverev's 72.5%.

Behind Zverev are Sebastian Baez (72.1%) and "serving machine" Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (70.6%). Novak Djokovic ranks 10th with 66.9%, while Carlos Alcaraz is 14th with 65.8%.

However, first serve percentage does not fully reflect Sinner's danger. Notably, the world number one leads the ATP Tour in a more important category: points won on serve. Sinner wins up to 80.9% of points in his service games, edging out Reilly Opelka (80.8%) and Taylor Fritz (79.7%).

Not stopping there, Sinner is also the best server on the ATP Tour in terms of holding serve, with a service game win rate of 92.9%. This is clear evidence of how difficult it is to break the Wimbledon champion's serve. Opelka is second at 90.6%, Ben Shelton third at 90.4%, and Alcaraz at 89.9%.

Another statistic that Sinner can still improve is the number of aces. He averages only 8.2 aces per match, ranking 27th on the ATP Tour. Meanwhile, Opelka leads with 18.5 aces per match, followed by Mpetshi Perricard (15.1) and Taylor Fritz (14.1).
