Zheng Qinwen responded to the loss in Dubai: his fingers and calves cramped, and it was difficult to find his rhythm

On February 19, local time, the women's singles quarterfinals of the WTA1000 Dubai station were produced, and after last week's Doha, the Middle East field once again became an upset focus, and after three rounds, only Swiatek and Rybakina were left in the top ten. In the second round of the Women's Singles yesterday afternoon, Zheng Qinwen was defeated by Stearns 6-3, 4-6, 4-6 after leading in one set, and suffered a first-round tour in both tournaments in the Middle East, with a record of only 1-3 this season.

Zheng Qinwen admitted after the game that he did not play well and revealed that he had cramps: "The most difficult thing in the game is that I can't find my rhythm, I want to see how much I can play." I think the loss was mostly my fault, and of course she (Stearns) played very well today, I didn't make the right decision on the key points, maybe I broke her too early in the third set. It was hot, plus yesterday was a long wait, first my fingers started cramping, two fingers stuck together, which was terrible for the serve, and then my calf also got cramps, which I had never had before. Zheng's next event will be the WTA1000 Indian Wells on March 5, and she will also compete in the Desert Smash charity exhibition event on March 3-4.

In yesterday's third-round match, world No.1 Sabalenka suffered a 3-6, 2-6 upset to Denmark's Taussen, who claimed her first career No.1 win against No.1 and reached the quarter-finals of the 1000 for the first time, where she will face Noskova for a place in the semi-finals. Noskova defeated fifth seed Pegula 6-3, 7-6(8) to reach the quarterfinals of the 1000 tournament for the first time. 14th seed Mukhova overcame a 3-5 deficit in the deciding set to defeat Kessler 6-3, 1-6, 7-6(5) to face Kostia in the quarter-finals, who defeated eighth seed Navarro in three hours to advance to the quarter-finals for the second year in a row. With Navarro out of the third round, Zheng Qinwen is currently holding on to the world No. 8 rankings for the time being.

Fourth seed Paulini suffered a fall against Kenin and she made it to the finish but lost 4-6, 0-6 to end her title defence. Kenin will battle sixth seed Rybakina for a place in the semi-finals, who saved six match points to defeat ninth seed Badosa 4-6, 7-6(8), 7-6(2) to reach the quarter-finals in the Middle East. Second seed Swiatek sent the egg 7-5, 6-0 to Yastremska and will face 12th seed Andreeva in the quarter-finals, who swept past Stearns 6-1, 6-1.

China's Xu Yifan/Yang Zhaoxuan defeated Mikhalikova/Nikkors 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the Women's Doubles quarter-finals against Noskova/Putintseva. Zhang Shuai/Mladenovic received the retirement ceremony from Towson/Kessler before the match, and will face Panova/Sdola in the quarter-finals.
