Sinner clinches Miami Open 2026, setting an unprecedented record.

Jannik Sinner achieved the "Sunshine Double" in 2026 by winning both Indian Wells and Miami Open.

World No. 2 tennis player Jannik Sinner continues to display devastating form by defeating Jiri Lehecka with a score of 6-4 in the final Miami Open 2026, thereby officially completing the prestigious Sunshine Double.

This achievement makes Sinner the first male player since Roger Federer in 2017 to win Indian Wells and Miami Open consecutively in the same season. Notably, the Italian star accomplished this without losing any sets—an unprecedented feat in history.

"This is incredibly meaningful to me. I never thought I could achieve the Sunshine Double due to its difficulty. But somehow, we did it.", Sinner said.

Jannik Sinner did not lose any sets at Miami this year.

The final was not easy as rainy weather in Florida caused two interruptions totaling nearly 3 hours. However, Sinner maintained impressive focus. He quickly secured a break in the first set and demonstrated flawless serving, not losing any points on his first serve (16/16).

In set 2, the turning point came when Lehecka made a crucial error at 4-4, allowing the world No. 2 to break decisively before closing the match after 1 hour and 33 minutes.

Throughout the match, the Italian player dominated with powerful baseline shots, especially formidable forehands. Although Lehecka attempted to advance to the net and won 13/19 points, the Czech player could not stop his opponent, who was in nearly perfect form.

Jiri Lehecka performed well at Miami, but it was insufficient to prevent Jannik Sinner from claiming the championship.

The Miami title extends Sinner's winning streak in ATP 1000 events to 34 sets and improves his season record to 19 wins - 2 losses. This is also his 7th Masters 1000 career title.

On the ATP rankings, the star born in 2001 remains closely behind rival Carlos Alcaraz. With his current peak form, the rivalry between these young stars promises to intensify as the European clay season begins.
