Polish number one Iga Swiatek is entering a crucial transitional phase in her career, as her support team confirms plans to appoint a new head coach soon, while considering a special training camp at Rafael Nadal's academy to prepare for the upcoming clay season.
The decision to change her coaching team came immediately after Swiatek's shocking loss to Magda Linette at the Miami Open. The 23-year-old subsequently parted ways with coach Wim Fissette, who had been with her since October 2024.

Nevertheless, their collaboration was not without achievements, as Swiatek secured three titles, most notably the Wimbledon 2025 championship—a major milestone in her career.
Speaking to Polish media, physiotherapist Maciej Ryszczuk, who has worked with Swiatek since 2020, stated that the team's goal is to have a new coach in place before the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, which begins on April 13.
According to him, Swiatek hopes to start working with the new coach as soon as possible, ideally at this tournament. However, he acknowledged that everything still depends on developments over the next few days.
Ryszczuk emphasized that all major decisions are made by Swiatek herself, though she always consults her team. "The most important thing is that Iga feels comfortable. She can ask our opinions, but our role is to support her regardless of her choice," he said.
Additionally, according to Polish media, Swiatek is planning to train at Nadal's academy in Mallorca ahead of the clay season—a period where she has always performed exceptionally well. Notably, this trip may coincide with a candidate being considered for the new head coach position, indicating an accelerated transition process.
Swiatek has long regarded Nadal, the 22-time Grand Slam champion, as an idol, and training in the environment shaped by the "King of Clay" is expected to help her regain stability and peak form during this crucial phase of the season.
