Natural nemesis? Swiatek is swept by Ostapenko again!

The final Women's Singles finalists for the 2025 season WTA1000 Doha have been decided, with two unseeded players, Ostapenko and Anisimova, meeting for the title at 11pm Beijing time today.

America's Anisimova faced Russia's Alexandrova in the semi-finals in the first half, beating her opponents 6-3 6-3 to reach the final of the WTA1000 tournament for the second time in her career.

In contrast, the semi-finals in the second half of the bracket will be more interesting, with second seed Swiatek taking on Ostapenko, who has won all four of their previous four meetings.

Ostapenko was in control from the start of the match with a series of highlight-reel winners, and she swept past the second seed 6-3 6-1 to make it to the final and rewrite her head-to-head record to 5-0.

You must know that in Doha, Swiatek has been doing quite well. She has won 15 matches here since the start of the 2022 season, and if she can reach the final and win this year, it will be an unprecedented fourth consecutive title in the tournament's history.

However, the former world No. 1 was defeated after only 70 minutes of play, and she even dropped the racket late in the match.

Ostapenko reached the final here nine years ago and after beating Swiatek, the Latvian will play in her third WTA1000 final, and in terms of head-to-head record, Ostapenko and Anisimova met once in Doha 2022, with a hard-fought 6-3 4-6 6-4 victory.

As the two are well-known representatives of the WTA, this women's singles final is bound to be full of attacking firepower, and if Ostapenko can win the title, then her world ranking will return to the top 20.

In Women's Doubles, China's Jiang Xinyu and her partner Wu Fangxian continued to surprise fans, winning 6-2 6-3 after receiving a retirement ceremony from fifth seeds Zhan Haoqing/Kudermetova in the previous round.

It was the highest-level final of their careers to date, and they reached their third tour final of the season together, where they will face Italy's Errani/Paulini, who defeated Andreeva/Schneider 4-6 7-6 11-9 in a tie-break in the semi-finals.

The Straits have shown a great fit this season, with the pair now taking up 650 points and $98,950 in prize money and fourth place in the Women's Doubles championship rankings with 1,205 season points.(Source: Tennis House Author: Barbie)
