The 2026 Australian Open has wrapped up, and following the season’s opening Grand Slam, numerous players have notable shifts in the newest world rankings. Outstanding Chinese players such as Wang Xinyu and Zhang Shuai have achieved remarkable ranking jumps. Now, let’s explore the latest rankings for this week.

#Women’s Rankings
In the women’s singles, Sabalenka, who has been runner-up at the Australian Open for two consecutive years, remains world No.1 with over 10,000 points. Swiatek holds second place with 7,978 points, while Rybakina, who won her first Australian Open singles title, is close behind at 7,610 points. The gap between Rybakina and Swiatek is narrow, and Rybakina is poised to achieve her highest career ranking this year.

Among the top ten women’s singles players, two mother players stand out. Svitolina, thanks to her Australian Open semifinal result, has climbed two spots to No.10; Bencic has moved up one place to No.9. Thus, currently, there are two mother players in the WTA top ten singles rankings.

Regarding Chinese players, although they have not yet started the 2026 season, Zheng Qinwen remains the highest-ranked Chinese player at No.26. Wang Xinyu, who reached the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time, has surged 13 places to No.33, now very close to her previous career-high ranking of No.32.

Following Wang Xinyu are Zhang Shuai at No.82, Yuan Yue at No.130, and Zhu Lin at No.152. Meanwhile, Zhang Shuai’s doubles ranking has also improved to No.7, thanks to her Australian Open women’s doubles championship.

#Men’s Rankings
In men’s singles, Alcaraz, who recently completed a career Grand Slam, continues to dominate the men’s tour. Sinner is ranked second, while Djokovic, who missed out on his 25th career title at the Australian Open, has moved up one spot to third. Zverev is currently fourth. From fifth to tenth are Musetti, Fritz, De Minaur, Aliassime, Shelton, and Bublik, with little change overall.
Among Chinese male players, none have yet broken into the top 100 this week. The highest-ranked is Bu Yunchaokete at No.139, followed by Wu Yibing at No.144.

Zhou Yi, who has performed well in recent Challenger events, has risen to No.220 in the world rankings. Last week, he reached the final of a CH50 Challenger but lost in straight sets, continuing his streak of three final losses without a Challenger title. His ranking improvement means he will likely participate in his first Grand Slam qualifying tournament at the French Open this year.
Following Zhou Yi, the rankings of other Chinese male players are as follows:
No.262 Shang Juncheng
No.273 Sun Fajing
No.367 Zhang Zhizhen
No.419 Cui Jie
No.479 Bai Yan
No.640 Mo Yecong
No.645 Terigele(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Barbie)
