Mensik received two tennis awards in the Czech Republic, with Noskova and Siniakova also earning honors.

It is well known that the ATP and WTA hold annual tennis awards. However, few may realize that the Czech Tennis Association also conducts its own yearly award selections. So, which players have been honored by the Czech Tennis Association this year? This article will take you through the details.

In January 2025, Mensik defeated Norwegian player Ruud, who had reached three Grand Slam finals, at the Australian Open, advancing to the round of 32 for the first time in his career. Notably, this marked his first victory over a top 10 player in a Grand Slam main draw. In mid-March, Mensik began his Miami Masters campaign by beating Spanish player Agut, who once reached the Wimbledon semifinals, in the first round.

From there, he gained unstoppable momentum, consecutively defeating Draper, who had just won his first Masters title, Russian Safiullin, compatriot Mahach who had reached Masters semifinals, French ATP 500 champion Arthur Fils, American Grand Slam finalist Fritz, and Serbian star Djokovic, who has completed all four Grand Slam titles. With this seven-match winning streak, Mensik claimed his first Masters title in his career.

At the end of June, Mensik also reached his first round of 32 at Wimbledon. Thanks to these outstanding performances, he was awarded the Canary Award by the Czech Tennis Association, becoming the first Czech male player in nearly fifteen years to receive this honor. Moreover, he also earned the Best Progressing Male Player award, making him the biggest winner.

In mid-February 2025, Noskova won three consecutive matches at the WTA1000 Dubai Open, reaching the quarterfinals of a WTA1000 event for the first time in her career, attracting much fan attention. She continued her momentum by winning three matches at Wimbledon at the end of June, reaching the round of 16 in a Grand Slam for the first time. In late September, Noskova achieved five straight wins at the China Open, reaching her first WTA1000 final. Although she lost the final to American Anisimova, her breakthrough was remarkable. For these outstanding achievements, Noskova received the Best Female Athlete award.

At the start of 2025, Lehecka secured five consecutive wins at the ATP250 Brisbane Open, capturing the first tour title for Czech players in the 2025 season. In early May, he reached the round of 32 at the French Open for the first time in his career. By the end of August, Lehecka won four straight matches at the US Open, advancing to his first US Open quarterfinal. Due to these excellent results, he was honored with the Best Male Athlete award.

At the beginning of the 2025 season, Valentova’s world ranking was outside the top 240. In mid-January, she won five matches in a row at the Porto Challenger in Portugal to claim the title. At the end of March, she won another title at the Murska Sobota Challenger in Slovenia. Additionally, she recently won six consecutive matches starting from qualifying rounds at the WTA250 Hong Kong Open, earning her first career tour title. This year, Valentova improved her world ranking by nearly 200 spots. Because of this, she received the Best Progressing Female Player award.

This season, Siniakova reached five doubles finals in tour and Grand Slam events, winning titles at the Australian Open, WTA1000 Dubai Open, WTA500 Seoul Open, and WTA1000 Wuhan Open. Her finals win rate reached an impressive 80%, earning her the title of Best Doubles Player. The presentation of multiple awards highlights the rise of Czech tennis.
