Vietnamese-origin player Learner Tien finished the 2025 season in the most impressive way by winning the Next Gen ATP Finals in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia — the most prestigious event for talents under 20 years old.
A convincing victory against Alexander Blockx (Belgium) with scores of 4-3(4), 4-2, 4-1 not only allowed Learner Tien to avenge last year’s final defeat but also confirmed his status among the world’s top young tennis players.
The year 2025 saw Tien make tremendous progress. The 20-year-old left-hander claimed his first ATP Tour title in Metz, recorded five wins against Top 10 players, and rose to a career-high ATP ranking of 28. Notably, at the Australian Open earlier this year, Tien made a huge impact by becoming the youngest player to reach the fourth round since Rafael Nadal in 2005.
