Dimitrov stated: "Eight years! We have experienced an incredible journey on and off the court. Thank you for the lessons, the joy, and the memories we built together. I’m grateful for your unwavering faith in me and your continuous motivation to help me reach my peak. You will always be a part of my life’s story. Wishing you all the best in your next adventure!"

Vavidu first joined Dimitrov’s team in 2016, the same year Dimitrov won his first Masters title, claimed the ATP Finals championship, and reached a career-high world ranking of No. 3. Although they briefly parted ways in 2019, Vavidu rejoined Dimitrov’s team in 2022. Previously, Vavidu coached British star Murray from 2010 to 2014.

Dimitrov is currently ranked No. 44 in the world. This year at Wimbledon, he suffered a chest muscle injury during his fourth-round match against Sinner. He made his comeback three months later at the Paris Masters but withdrew before his second-round match against Medvedev due to a shoulder injury after winning his first-round match. Dimitrov will begin his 2026 season at the ATP 250 Brisbane tournament in the first week of the new year.
