Alcaraz and Ferrero End Their Partnership

On the evening of December 17th Beijing time, the young Spanish star Alcaraz, who reclaimed the ATP world No. 1 ranking this year, announced on his personal social media that he has parted ways with his longtime coach Juan Carlos Ferrero after seven years of collaboration.

This season, Alcaraz captured Grand Slam titles at both the French Open and the US Open and was crowned year-end world No. 1. In last week’s ATP annual awards, Ferrero and Samuel Lopez, as Alcaraz’s co-coaches, were named Coaches of the Year.

Alcaraz wrote on his personal social media:

Writing this post is incredibly difficult for me... After more than seven years together, Juan and I have decided to end our journey as coach and player walking side by side.

Thank you for turning my childhood dreams into reality one by one. When we first started on this path, I was just a young kid. Throughout these years, both on and off the court, you have been by my side through an unforgettable journey. Every step with you has filled me with joy.

We once stood at the pinnacle together. I have always felt that if this partnership in my sports career was destined to part ways, it should be at the peak—at the height we always fought for and longed to reach.

So many memories flood my heart, and it would be unfair to pick just one. You not only helped me become a better athlete but also helped me grow into a better person. What I cherish most is that I truly enjoyed this journey together. These precious memories and the road we walked hand in hand will be treasured forever.

Now, a new chapter is about to begin for each of us, with new journeys and challenges ahead. But I firmly believe we will continue to face them with full commitment, just as we always have, moving forward toward better things.

I sincerely wish you all the best in the future. Knowing that we have given our all and held nothing back leaves me with no regrets.

Today is a tough day, and I find it hard to express what I want to say adequately. Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when so many shared moments are wrapped up in this experience.

We fought hard together, grew together, and created unforgettable memories. I want to thank this period, the trust, the gains, and especially everyone who stood by me throughout this journey.

I will cherish the laughter, the challenges overcome, the conversations, the support through difficult times, and the satisfaction of being part of this unique experience.

Today marks the closing of a very important chapter in my life. I close it with nostalgia but also with pride and anticipation for the story ahead. I know everything in this experience has made me a better person.
