Is Zheng Qinwen heading to the Australian Open without any warm-up matches?

Zheng Qinwen, unseen for some time, has once again elevated her beauty to a new height!

On December 11th Beijing time, Zheng Qinwen appeared at the opening of the “Dior House” in Sanlitun, Beijing, as Dior’s global brand ambassador. She donned a Dior 2026 Spring/Summer men’s blazer, complemented by smoky makeup and curled hair, perfectly showcasing her queenly charm. Familiar stars like Zhang Ziyi, Deng Wei, and Zhou Ye also attended the event alongside her.

In the recently concluded 2025 season, although Zheng Qinwen missed several major tournaments due to a right elbow injury and her world ranking dropped significantly, her off-court earnings soared by over four million USD compared to last year. Her total income (including prize money and endorsements) reached 20.6 million USD, ranking her fifth among the world’s highest-paid female athletes this year.

Zheng Qinwen endorses many well-known brands, including Nike, Dior, Audi, Rolex, Gatorade, and Lancôme, among more than 15 others, clearly demonstrating her strong commercial value.

Meanwhile, Zheng Qinwen’s 2026 competition plans are highly anticipated by fans, especially the much-awaited Australian Open. She previously reached the women’s singles final at Melbourne Park but unfortunately finished as the runner-up.

Before this year’s Australian Open, players still had over two weeks of warm-up events, including the United Cup, Brisbane, Hong Kong, and Auckland in the first week, followed by men’s and women’s tournaments in Adelaide and Hobart during the second week.

However, we have not seen Zheng Qinwen register for any warm-up tournaments; she might opt to fly directly to Melbourne and enter the Australian Open without prior matches.

At this stage, fully recovering from injury and regaining match rhythm are equally important for Zheng Qinwen. Entering a Grand Slam without warm-up matches may mean less preparation, but prioritizing long-term health is crucial. Of course, there is still some time before the 2026 season starts, so she may still decide to participate in warm-up events.

In the 2025 season, Zheng Qinwen also came straight to the Australian Open for her first tournament of the year. As last year’s women’s singles runner-up and the No. 5 seed this year, she won her opening match against qualifier Todoni but was surprisingly eliminated in the second round by German veteran Sigmund, who had defeated American player Battist in the first round.

So, how far do you think Zheng Qinwen will advance in this year’s Australian Open?(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Barbie)
