Latest Olympic curling qualifier update: China triumphed over Japan 9-4 to secure their ticket to the Games.
Through the first eight ends, we held a 5-4 lead over Japan. In the ninth end, holding the hammer, we scored four points, extending the lead to 9-4. Japan then conceded, resulting in our final victory and qualification.
The event is now fully completed. Congratulations to the Chinese team on earning their Olympic spot. It was a tough journey. Well done, team!
During the round-robin stage, we achieved six wins and one loss, ranking first overall, with our only defeat coming against Japan.
In the first battle for a qualification spot, we lost 5-9 to the USA, which was disappointing and drew criticism from fans for a weak finish.
Today, we finally secured a big win over Japan, claiming the second qualification spot in this event. Kudos to our men’s team—you did great!
