On a sun-kissed coast, tennis arcs gracefully through the air. Here, the sea breeze cools the heat, and the beach’s palm groves blend into a picturesque scene. The 2025 YONEX Women’s Tennis Exchange Tournament held its annual finals in Pattaya, Thailand. Forty-two outstanding players from across the country left their daily routines behind to experience a tennis journey embraced by sunshine, blue seas, and white sands, blending every drop of their hard-fought sweat into the most charming vacation rhythm of Southeast Asia.

First overseas event: A paradise transformed into a tennis sanctuary
This marks not only the YONEX Women’s Tennis Exchange Tournament’s debut beyond national borders but also YONEX China’s inaugural overseas tennis event. As Thailand entered the cool season at the end of October, Pattaya welcomed a more comfortable climate, ideal for outdoor sports. From the hotel, a two-minute drive by courtesy car leads to the tennis courts, where the swaying palms of this vacation paradise transform into a hall representing the highest level of Chinese women’s amateur tennis. The newly refurbished courts await the arrival of the players, featuring four standard courts for matches and additional non-competition courts for warm-ups.

For the players, this competition is undoubtedly a unique experience. Carrying their rackets and bags abroad, they gave their all under the warm Southeast Asian sun. The hotel offers comprehensive amenities including a beach and swimming pool, allowing players to relax on golden sands or in the infinity pool right after their matches. For those wanting to explore the local vibrancy, a short drive of about ten minutes brings them to the heart of Pattaya city. Amidst fierce competition, participants fully enjoy the relaxation and joy that travel brings.

The finals combined round-robin group stages with knockout rounds. After a day of intense battles, champions emerged from two categories. The twin sisters Zhang Linyu and Zhang Chuyu from Tianjin claimed the Spring Blossom group title. At only 18 years old, they were the youngest competitors in this event and currently study at Wuhan University of Technology. This trip to Thailand was their first overseas journey, offering them a fresh cultural experience. The sisters credited their victory to calmness during critical points, instant communication on court, and their deep mutual understanding.

The Autumn Harvest group title went to the Beijing duo Fan Yuqing and Bi Ying, both experienced tennis coaches. This was their first time partnering in a tournament, and they triumphed in the finals. Elated by their win, they shared that they spent several days in Bangkok and Pattaya before the competition, which helped them adapt to the climate and cultivate a positive mindset, laying a solid foundation for their championship success.

Growing stronger over four years, the event offers a professional-level experience
Founded in 2022, the YONEX Women’s Tennis Exchange Tournament is now in its fourth year. The scale has expanded annually, with an increasing number of qualifying events. The 2025 season launched in May, hosting competitions in 13 cities including Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin, Hefei, Urumqi, Yinchuan, Hengqin, Wuhan, Changsha, Ningbo, Dalian, Kunming, and Guangzhou. Champions from these regional events gathered in Pattaya, Thailand, to compete for the highest honor in the finals.

The choice of venue reflects YONEX’s thoughtful planning and professional dedication. The selected courts have a proven track record of hosting ITF events and branded tournaments. To ensure players receive an experience comparable to professional athletes, the brand spared no effort during preparation. Anticipating the complexities of overseas events and outdoor court weather variability, comprehensive indoor rain contingency plans were established. From the venue’s heritage to emergency support, every detail demonstrates a relentless commitment to event quality and player experience.

National-level referee Liu Qiang served as the chief umpire, supported by eight local referees from Bangkok and Pattaya, all experienced in officiating ITF and ATP Challenger events. This professional officiating team earned unanimous praise from players for their rigorous approach and outstanding skills, while also fostering cross-national friendship and exchange through tennis.

At the awards banquet that evening, players donned elegant attire to celebrate alongside sponsors and regional event organizers, sharing the joy of this tennis spectacle held in a top-tier resort destination. The event also unveiled the new logo for the 2026 tournament—a sleek, flowing design symbolizing feminine grace and the flight path of a tennis ball. The slogan “Play For Beauty” was prominently displayed, accented by a small heart, echoing the unique tennis scoring term “Love,” marking a fresh, modern, and inspiring visual identity for the YONEX Women’s Tennis Exchange Tournament’s future.
This successful cross-border event not only created unforgettable memories for the players but also set a new benchmark for amateur tennis tournaments. With passion and dedication at its core, let us look forward to the YONEX Women’s Tennis Exchange Tournament blossoming brilliantly on even broader stages, welcoming the next spring together.
