The final ATP year-end spot remains uncertain, with Zverev saving match points to come back against Medvedev.

On October 31 local time, the ATP Paris Masters semifinalists were decided. Sinner continued his 24-match indoor winning streak, Zverev saved match points to defeat Medvedev, Aliassime stopped Vachero’s 10-match Masters main draw winning streak, and Bublik made his debut in the semifinals.

The 9th seed Aliassime maintained his excellent form at this event, defeating the new Shanghai Rolex Masters champion Vachero 6-2, 6-2 in just 1 hour and 18 minutes, returning to the semifinals here for the first time in three years. Although Vachero couldn’t extend his Masters winning streak, his world ranking is confirmed to break into the top 30 next week for the first time.

With an additional 200 championship points, Aliassime’s ranking is now only 90 points behind 8th-ranked Musetti. If he wins the title in Paris, he will secure the final spot directly; if not, the race for the year-end finals place will continue next week, with Musetti playing ATP250 Athens and Aliassime competing in ATP250 Metz.

Bublik

Aliassime’s semifinal opponent will be 13th seed Bublik, who fought back in three sets 6-7(5), 6-4, 7-5 against 6th seed Deminor, reaching his first Masters singles semifinal in his career. Notably, Bublik still has a theoretical chance to qualify for the year-end finals if both Musetti and Aliassime exit early in next week’s tournaments, while he wins both the Paris Masters and WTA250 Metz.

Bublik and Aliassime have met five times before, with Aliassime holding a slight 3-2 lead. This direct confrontation will have a significant impact on the competition for the year-end finals spot.

Zverev

Defending champion and 3rd seed Zverev saved two match points in the deciding set to narrowly defeat 11th seed Medvedev 2-6, 6-3, 7-6(5), ending a five-match losing streak against him. This victory also crushed Medvedev’s hopes of a last-minute “overtake” to qualify for the year-end finals, ending his six-year consecutive appearance streak.

Sinner

Zverev will face 2nd seed Sinner in the semifinals, who took only 69 minutes to beat 5th seed Shelton 6-3, 6-3, extending his indoor winning streak to 24 and setting a new personal best at the Paris Masters. In their eight career meetings, Sinner and Zverev are tied 4-4, but Sinner currently holds a three-match winning streak. This semifinal will determine whether Sinner can continue his push to reclaim the world No.1 ranking next week.
