Raking in 150 million yuan, Zheng Qinwen has truly hit the jackpot!

Despite missing the 2025 US Open and other events because of surgery and rehabilitation, Zheng Qinwen continues to dominate conversations around Chinese tennis. After being named the 2024 Touching China Person of the Year last week, her exceptionally high income has further drawn fan interest.

According to the latest data from sports business site Sportico, Zheng Qinwen ranks sixth in tennis earnings over the past 12 months, with $22.2 million (approximately 159 million yuan). This substantial income breaks down into about $5.2 million from prize money and roughly $17 million from endorsements.

As one of the most professional and globally influential sports, tennis enjoys high attention and commercialization. Zheng Qinwen’s remarkable earnings stem not only from her outstanding performance on the court but also from the vast commercial opportunities behind the Chinese market, symbolized by the five-star red flag, which undoubtedly attracts major brands.

Looking closely at Zheng Qinwen’s prize money, the largest portion—$2.28 million—came from being the runner-up in last year’s WTA Finals singles. Her $17 million endorsement income comes from 14 top international brands including Nike, Rolex, Gatorade, Huawei, Audi, and Dior, covering categories like sports gear, luxury goods, automobiles, and electronics.

Notably, over 75% of Zheng Qinwen’s current endorsements stem from winning the women’s singles gold medal at last year’s Paris Olympics, underscoring the immense significance of that achievement for her career.

Among other players on the list, Italian tennis star and current men’s world No. 1 Sinner leads with total earnings of $52.3 million, including $27.3 million in prize money and $25 million from endorsements.

The second spot also belongs to a male player, Alcaraz, who earned $49 million overall, with $13 million from tournaments and a remarkable $36 million from endorsements—the highest among all listed players.

American tennis star Gauff ranks third, earning $12.2 million from competitions and $23 million from brand deals in the past year, totaling $35.2 million.

Positions four and five are held by Sabalenka and Djokovic, with $25.4 million and $24.4 million respectively, while spots seven through ten are occupied by Swiatek, Tiafoe, Zverev, and Fritz.

This list clearly shows that male players generally earn more than female players. So, how much do you think Zheng Qinwen will make this year?(Source: Tennis Home, Author: Barbie)
