The first quarter is led by world No.1 and defending champion Sabalenka, who faces Masarova in the opening round and could meet former finalist and 31st seed Fernandez in round three. If she advances smoothly, Sabalenka may face 14th seed Tauson for a spot in the quarterfinals. Other top seeds in this section include 7th seed Paolini and 9th seed Rybakina, with former champion Raducanu also placed here.
Rolex ambassador and 5th seed Andreescu anchors the second quarter, opening against local powerhouse Parks, then facing the winner between Chinese player Zhu Lin and Potapova in round two. In the third round, Andreescu could meet 25th seed Ostapenko, and in the fourth round possibly face 10th seed Navarro or 22nd seed Mboko. In the quarterfinals, she may go head-to-head with last year’s runner-up and 4th seed Pegula.
Additionally, Rolex ambassador and 16th seed Bencic is also in this quarter. She will start against a qualifier, face 17th seed Samsonova in round three, and potentially meet Pegula in round four. Bencic reached the US Open semifinals in 2019 and made the quarterfinals twice in 2014 and 2021. With her extensive Grand Slam experience, she is a strong contender to break through in this section.

Rolex ambassador and 2023 champion Gauff, seeded third, holds the third quarter, where her path is packed with tough opponents. She opens against Australian Tomljanovic, then faces the winner between Vekic and Bosmans-Manero in round two. In the fourth round, she may have a spotlight clash with two-time champion Osaka, while the quarterfinal opponent could be the 6th seed and home favorite, this year’s Australian Open champion Keys.
French veteran and Rolex ambassador Garcia, who is bidding farewell to tennis, enters with a wildcard and faces Rashimova in the first round. Kvitova will play her final professional match at the US Open, opening against French player Parry. Local legend Serena Williams also competes with a wildcard, making her 25th US Open main draw appearance, starting with a high-profile first round against 11th seed Muchova.

Swiatek will begin her US Open campaign against Arango, with the first seeded opponent she may face being 29th seed Kalinskaya, and 13th seed Aleksandrova in round four. In the quarterfinals, she could meet 8th seed Anisimova, who faced her in the Wimbledon final recently. If she reaches the semifinals, Swiatek is likely to face 3rd seed Gauff, setting up a “Rolex ambassador derby.”
Rolex ambassador, Greek star Sakkari is also in this quarter. She opens against German veteran Tatjana Maria, then faces the winner between 12th seed Svitolina and Bondar in round two.

Rolex ambassador Zheng Qinwen, who reached the US Open quarterfinals in both 2023 and 2024, has withdrawn from this year’s tournament due to ongoing recovery from right elbow surgery. We wish her a speedy recovery and return. Other Chinese players Wang Xinyu, Yuan Yue, Wang Yafan, and Zhu Lin have directly qualified for the main draw, facing Dolehide, 17th seed Samsonova, 10th seed Navarro, and Potapova respectively in the first round. Zhang Shuai and Wei Sijia will compete in the final qualifying round in a “Chinese derby,” while Wang Xiyu has also reached the final qualifying round.
