The latest update from Inter Milan news source FcInterNews reveals that Atletico Madrid’s 30-year-old French midfielder Rabiot has been recommended to Inter. The ex-Juventus star may make a comeback to Serie A, since he is in the last year of his contract. Marseille wants to avoid losing Rabiot on a free transfer next summer, so this summer is seen as the best opportunity to cash in.
Rabiot began his career at Manchester City’s youth academy before moving to Paris Saint-Germain’s youth system. He has made two free transfers: joining Juventus from PSG in the summer of 2019, and after five years, moving to Marseille from Juventus on a free transfer in the summer of 2024. During his time at PSG, he played 227 matches, scored 24 goals, and provided 14 assists; at Juventus, he appeared in 212 games, netting 22 goals and delivering 16 assists.
Rabiot, now 30 years old, stands 1.91 meters tall, is left-footed, and can play multiple midfield positions. His contract with Marseille runs until 2026, and his market value is estimated at €25 million by Transfermarkt. Last season, he made 31 appearances for Marseille in all competitions, starting 29 times, playing a total of 2,636 minutes, and recording 10 goals and 5 assists.
In my opinion, Rabiot is talented, but he’s known as a “mama’s boy,” and both he and his mother are particularly money-driven, which can make him difficult to manage. However, in terms of playing style, Rabiot does fit the type of player Chivu likes.
