CAHN is gearing up for their first game in the Southeast Asian Club Cup, facing BG Pathum (Thailand).
Ahead of the opening match in the Southeast Asian Club Cup against BG Pathum United (Thailand), head coach Mano Polking expressed his trust in his players with candid remarks:
"I always say that I have a quality squad with great spirit since the Super Cup match two weeks ago. We put on an impressive performance at last season's Southeast Asian Club Cup and aim to do even better this year. That's why the team is determined to get off to a good start."
CAHN will kick off their Southeast Asian Club Cup campaign as guests of BG Pathum United at 19:00 on August 20. Meanwhile, captain Nguyen Quang Hai also asserted that the whole team will strive for victory on Thai soil to reward the passionate supporters of the capital's club.
On the evening of August 15, the final two play-off rounds of the Shopee Cup took place, confirming Cebu FC (Philippines) and Shan United (Myanmar) as the last two teams to qualify. Cebu FC lost 1-2 to Kasuka FC (Brunei) in the first leg but pulled off a remarkable comeback with a 3-0 home win in the second leg, securing an overall victory of 4-2.
With this result, Cebu FC will join Group A alongside Thai League champions Buriram United, V-League runners-up CAHN, BG Pathum United (Thailand), Selangor FC (Malaysia), and Tampines Rovers FC (Malaysia).
In the other play-off, Shan United had little trouble against Laos’ national champions Ezra FC, winning both legs with scores of 2-1 and 1-0, thus triumphing 3-1 on aggregate.
Thanks to this victory, Shan United earned a spot in Group B, where they will face strong opponents including Johor Darul Ta’zim from Malaysia, Nam Dinh FC from Vietnam, Lion City Sailors FC from Singapore, PKR Svay Rieng FC from Cambodia, as well as Thai League runners-up Bangkok United FC.
