Two AFC coaching courses are being held in Vietnam.

Two AFC fitness coaching courses are being conducted in Ba Ria (Ho Chi Minh City) in August 2025.

From August 12th to 24th, with the approval of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), two AFC level 1 and 2 fitness coaching courses were held at Ba Ria Stadium, Ba Ria Ward (Ho Chi Minh City); the level 1 course has just concluded with many positive results.

These two courses were scheduled back-to-back to maximize support from AFC fitness instructors and the Japan Football Association (JFA). Currently, Vietnam has instructors for football, goalkeeper, and futsal coaching, but none specializing in fitness. Therefore, these courses also aim for Vietnam to have fitness instructors in the future who can share their expertise with Vietnamese coaches.

At the end of the level 1A fitness course (the first of four AFC fitness courses: 1A, 1B, 2A, and 2B), the coaches gave honest feedback about the program.

Coach Vu Nhu Thanh shared that the course was very engaging, full of useful information, and expressed gratitude to VFF for organizing it. “Some of the knowledge was actually taught in previous C/B/A/Pro courses and was repeated in this fitness course, giving coaches a chance to review. During the course, training-related knowledge was easier to grasp. However, sports science and data topics require more time for deeper understanding,”, Coach Vu Nhu Thanh added.

At the opening of the level 2A fitness course, instructor Yasumatsu Minikobu thanked VFF for inviting him to teach and appreciated the coaches for making time to join despite their busy club commitments.

“We personally strive to make this course as effective as possible for the participating coaches. Everyone has shown eagerness to learn and motivation when acquiring new knowledge in the 1A course. The coaches here are not students, and we are not simply teachers. We are all part of the football family, and we also want to learn from your experiences to share with us,” said instructor Yasumatsu.
