The latest medal table for the Chengdu World University Games: China ranks first with 21 golds, four teams have surpassed double digits, and Ukraine has risen to third place.

On August 14, Beijing time, the sixth competition day of the Chengdu World University Games concluded, resulting in all 21 gold medals being awarded. This led to significant changes in the medal standings. China secured three golds in a single day, solidifying its lead with a total of 21 golds. Germany unexpectedly finished the day with no golds, remaining in second place, while Ukraine climbed to third with three golds. Italy dropped to fourth with a total of 10 golds, although it still leads in overall medals!

During the first five competition days, the Chinese team consistently harvested gold medals, with the total number continuing to rise, firmly establishing its position at the top. On the sixth competition day, we continued to collect golds, securing three from events such as billiards. This brought our total gold count to over 20, making us the first country to achieve this milestone. With a total of 21 golds, we now lead Germany by 6 golds, further extending our advantage. This marks three consecutive competition days at the top, a position that seems unshakeable for now, as we aim to set new records for the most golds in a single World University Games!

After a strong gold medal performance in the first five competition days, Germany's momentum drastically declined on the sixth day, finishing with no golds and remaining at 15. Not only did China widen the gap, but Ukraine is also closing in, now only 4 golds behind Germany, marking a double blow for the German team!

Ukraine has demonstrated strong capabilities at the World University Games, steadily increasing its gold medal count and quietly rising to the forefront. On the sixth day, Ukraine secured three golds, bringing its total to an impressive 11 and successfully climbing to third place, surpassing Italy with rapid progress!

Italy managed to secure 1 gold on the day, reaching double digits in its gold count, but its ranking fell to fourth, overtaken by the surging Ukraine. Nevertheless, Italy still leads in total medals with 42. Currently, four countries have surpassed double digits in golds: China, Germany, Ukraine, and Italy. We look forward to more countries achieving this milestone!
