Manchester United has directly informed Hojlund of his departure! A verbal agreement has been reached with Milan for a loan-to-buy deal.

The possibility of Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund leaving is becoming more likely. Despite his desire to remain and fulfill his "childhood dream," Ruben Amorim is not inclined to let him compete with new signing Sesko. He has now directly told him that to get playing time, he must leave.

After the announcement of Sesko's signing last Saturday, Hojlund's ranking as the central striker in Amorim's lineup has dropped, with Zirkzee and Chidozie Obasi also available as forwards. Hojlund did not get a chance to play in the friendly match against Fiorentina, with midfielder Mason Mount taking on the number 9 role.

According to British media, Amorim has clearly conveyed a message to Hojlund through his selection in matches: his position in the team is no longer secure. Manchester United is trying to make Hojlund understand that they believe a transfer is the best outcome for all parties. When asked after the match why no central striker was fielded, Amorim ignored Hojlund. He said, "Without a central striker as a pivot, we struggled to play. But we have a new striker (Sesko). So let’s see in seven days; we will determine who starts against Arsenal."

Hojlund is clearly aware of his situation. He attempted to claim Amad Diallo's goal in the U.S. and became furious when his teammate Dolberg failed to deliver a cross to him, kicking the post in frustration and yelling in dissatisfaction.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs stated, "Hojlund has now been directly informed that he needs to leave this season to get playing time, and he is considering his options. Manchester United prefers to sell but does not rule out a loan-to-buy deal. Milan is prepared to match United's £40 million asking price through a loan fee plus a buyout option. Further negotiations took place yesterday."

"Calcio Mercato" confirmed that AC Milan is interested in signing Hojlund, and Manchester United is willing to loan him out for a substantial fee. Although the 22-year-old Danish forward is not included in the "bomb squad" like Antony, Sancho, Garnacho, and Malacia, the club similarly hopes to sell him.

Manchester United still hopes to bring in a midfielder during this summer transfer window, but they must first complete player sales to achieve this goal. The club prefers to sell Hojlund permanently, but if the buyer cannot directly pay the £30 million valuation, they are open to a loan arrangement.

The expectation of a loan-to-buy deal is that Hojlund can regain some form after leaving Manchester United, thus restoring his value. Before joining Manchester United, Hojlund had a brief stint in Serie A, scoring 10 goals and providing 4 assists in 34 appearances for Atalanta. Any loan agreement would need to include an option or obligation to sign Hojlund at the end of the season, and Manchester United also hopes the loan club will cover his weekly wage of around £110,000, along with a multi-million pound loan fee.

Hojlund joined Manchester United in 2023 for a transfer fee of €75 million, with an additional €10 million in performance-related clauses. He signed a five-year contract, with three years remaining. He is believed to have reluctantly accepted the reality that he has to leave, and Milan now has the opportunity to persuade him to join.

According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport," Milan has reached a verbal agreement with Manchester United, pending convincing Hojlund himself to accept the transfer. The new head coach of the Rossoneri, Allegri, is looking for a new striker, as Abraham's loan has ended and Jovic has also transferred to AEK Athens.

Premier League transfer expert Graeme Bailey stated, "Hojlund is not part of Manchester United's bomb squad, but people have accepted that he is likely to leave. Even before Sesko's arrival, his opportunities had already seemed limited."

Regarding the progress of the transfer, he added, "Negotiations are ongoing. I have heard that AC Milan is now considering the theoretical possibility of signing both Hojlund and Vlahovic simultaneously. If Inter Milan can sell Taremi, they may compete with their city rivals. Juventus, meanwhile, is working to finalize a permanent transfer agreement for Muani and cannot be ruled out as a potential suitor."

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Milan is willing to cover Hojlund's wages and a loan fee of €6 million. The British "Daily Mail" reported slightly differently, stating that the Rossoneri's loan fee is £4 million, but they are willing to offer £39 million to buy him, surpassing Manchester United's valuation!

"TEAMtalk" reported that the two clubs have a £5 million (€5.5 million) difference in their valuations for the buyout amount. Milan wants to determine whether the Hojlund deal can be completed this week; otherwise, they may first pursue Vlahovic from Juventus.
