Hojlund is seriously considering leaving Manchester United! He has to depart for the World Cup, rejecting a swap for Sesko.

Once Benjamin Sesko completes his transfer from RB Leipzig to Manchester United, the fellow 9 of the Red Devils, Hojlund, has two options: leave Old Trafford or sit on the bench. Sesko is three months younger than Hojlund and is priced at £75 million, which is £3 million more than the Dane. From any perspective, the "cargo ship" has no way out.

Some fans who are reluctant to part with him might think that the 22-year-old Hojlund's fighting spirit is commendable and he still has hope. However, Amorim plays a 3-4-3 formation, not a 1-0-9 tactic. With no European matches next season, the number of games for the Red Devils will sharply decrease, featuring only 38 rounds of the Premier League, along with League Cup and FA Cup matches, meaning many key players often won't need to be rotated.

Sources close to Hojlund admit that even if the player possesses an "Elder Devil Dream" and is willing to fight for his position and improve his skills, if the club repeatedly indicates they no longer want him, he will eventually become disheartened and seek to leave before the summer window closes on September 1.

One key factor is the pressure from the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Denmark is almost certain to qualify, but Hojlund has lost his starting position. He has only scored one goal in his last 15 national team matches, which was the one where he celebrated in front of Cristiano Ronaldo as a "tribute."

Last week, after scoring during Manchester United's tour in the USA, Hojlund eagerly wanted to claim a goal that was credited to his teammate Amad Diallo, indicating he understands the situation he faces. He has expressed his desire to stay twice this summer, after all, it is the team he has supported since childhood. However, coach Ruben Amorim remains unresponsive and refuses to confirm he wants to keep him.

Even if Hojlund barely stays, it remains to be seen which position he will occupy. Sesko is certain to become a starter, and Amorim also has players like Zirkzee, Chidozie, Cunha, and Mbeumo who can all play centrally.

According to the Premier League's PSR profit and sustainability development rules, Manchester United is also prepared to sell Hojlund at a loss. The fixed transfer fee for the Dane upon joining Manchester United was £64 million, and with two years of his contract elapsed and three years remaining, the PSR value is calculated at £38.4 million. The club is willing to sell for £30 million to improve cash flow.

From an ideal perspective, keeping Hojlund at Manchester United would naturally help with bench depth, as he can provide a different backup style compared to Zirkzee, which could be beneficial for certain matches and teammates.

However, if we follow some fans' logic, if Manchester United keeps Hojlund, Garnacho, and others, then next season, Amorim will have Sesko, Mbeumo, Cunha, Zirkzee, Hojlund, Garnacho, and Mason Mount competing for three positions.

This is still the result of moving Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo back; if these two also play in the attacking line, that would mean nine players competing for three positions, and many players will spend long periods without playing. Sitting on the bench won't help Hojlund regain his form; he needs to go to another league without the intense competition of the Premier League to get back on track.

Previously, there were rumors that RB Leipzig was willing to accept Hojlund as a "sweetener" in the transfer for Sesko, conducting a player-plus-cash exchange. However, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano disclosed that the Danish striker is unwilling to go to Leipzig, and this proposal has been completely rejected.

Romano explained: "If a top striker like Sesko joins Manchester United, it might be time for Hojlund to leave the club. Serie A teams are interested in him, with AC Milan looking for a forward. Currently, from an economic perspective, he is considered overpriced and not the only option, as Milan is also considering bringing in Vlahovic. However, if Manchester United sells Hojlund, he could become a choice for Milan. Last week, Manchester United and Leipzig discussed the possibility of including Hojlund in the Sesko deal, but that proposal could not be realized as the player was not interested, leading to its immediate collapse."
