If Sheshko turns down Manchester United, Amorim's backup options are revealed! They could also wait until next year to sign Kane.

Manchester United has made an offer to acquire Sheshko from RB Leipzig. While the club is confident that the 22-year-old player will choose them, Newcastle United's higher bid and Champions League qualification may still lure Sheshko away. If that happens, the Red Devils will have to look for other striker options. According to British media, Aston Villa's Watkins remains a common Plan B option for Amorim and Eddie Howe, while Amorim might also return to the Primeira Liga to bring in Porto's Spanish international Samu Aghehowa or Benfica's Greek international Evangelos Pavlidis.

The 21-year-old Aghehowa was born in Spain to Nigerian parents and bears a resemblance to Sheshko. His original name was Samu Omorodion, which he changed to honor his mother. Last season, he scored 27 goals for Porto, but Atletico Madrid holds 50% of his rights, with Porto valuing him at £70 million. The 26-year-old Pavlidis scored 28 goals for Benfica, including 9 in the Champions League, where he notably netted a hat-trick against Barcelona. Pavlidis is priced at £52 million.

As for Watkins, although Villa claims they are not selling, this 29-year-old English striker and the club are reportedly open to a transfer, with a deal potentially being reached for just £40 million to £50 million, rather than the rumored £60 million. However, Watkins' age is a concern for top clubs, as he will turn 30 by the end of the year.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Harry Kane's career at Bayern Munich may soon come to an end. Kane won the Bundesliga title last season, achieving his goal of ending his career without any trophies. So far, he has made 96 appearances for Bayern, scoring 85 goals, maintaining a high efficiency, and is now looking to return to the Premier League to pursue another objective.

It is believed that after the World Cup in the summer of next year, the 32-year-old striker may seek to return to England to break Alan Shearer's all-time Premier League goal record. Currently, Kane trails Shearer by 47 Premier League goals, and if he maintains his current scoring rate, he would only need to play two more peak seasons in the Premier League to surpass the Newcastle legend. However, if he returns to the Premier League too late, it may take longer or even be impossible to achieve this goal.

German media reports that another reason Kane may leave the Bundesliga next year is a clause in his contract that reduces his salary each year. Therefore, leaving Bayern next year to return to the Premier League could allow Kane to maintain a higher income.

British media states that while Tottenham has the first option to buy Kane back to the Premier League, if the England captain leaves Bayern next year, Manchester United could be his "most likely destination." By then, Kane will be 33 years old, which on the surface does not align with the type of transfer advocated by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.

However, if Kane resembles his Bayern predecessor Lewandowski, Manchester United could certainly consider signing him. Lewandowski is already 36 but still scored 42 goals in all competitions for Barcelona last season, winning the La Liga title.

If Kane can perform at a level similar to the 2024/25 season in the upcoming campaign, even the "lottery" enthusiast owner Ratcliffe would consider bringing him in, as he not only brings consistent goals but also high market value. As for head coach Amorim, he is not fixated on young players; in fact, British media reports that he currently prefers to acquire a mature striker familiar with the Premier League.

Of course, if Manchester United wants to buy Kane next summer, their transfer plans for this summer window would need to be adjusted, abandoning the high-priced acquisition of the 22-year-old Sheshko. This is because if they bring in Kane, he would definitely be a starter, while the young Slovenian striker cannot sit on the bench, making it impossible for both to coexist.

Therefore, if Manchester United signs Sheshko, they will definitely not pursue Kane in the future. However, if they prepare to reach out to Kane again, the Red Devils could consider signing a free striker this year, such as former Everton player Dominic Calvert-Lewin or Leicester City's Jamie Vardy, and give the £72 million striker Hojlund a year to prove himself.

Another option for Amorim is to loan a striker. Paris Saint-Germain is willing to loan French forward Kolo Muani again, but Manchester United needs to find a way to persuade him to choose them, as he currently hopes for a permanent transfer to Juventus, where he played last season.

According to Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, despite receiving calls from Premier League clubs, Muani still hopes to sign with Juventus. The "Old Lady" remains Muani's preferred destination, and the team is still negotiating a transfer with Paris Saint-Germain. It is said that Juventus may discuss a permanent transfer or a loan with a buyout clause.

However, the future a year from now is full of uncertainties, so many fans believe that changing this summer's transfer plans because of the potential signing of Kane next year is neither possible nor advisable. Manchester United should focus on the present rather than the past or the future.
