The Rotterdam giants will kick off their season at their home ground, De Kuip, against Fenerbahce, but will be without left-back Gijs Smal, centre-back Gernot Trauner, midfielder Jakub Moder, striker Julian Carranza, and goalkeeper Justin Bijlow.
Moder, the newest addition to Feyenoord's already crowded physio room, is dealing with a "minor injury" that is likely to keep him out of Feyenoord's season opener.
The Polish midfielder did not participate in the first-team training on Tuesday, but Van Persie is not ready to rule him out completely. "I still hope he can play," the Premier League legend remarked during Tuesday's press conference.

Injury-plagued Feyenoord
Gernot Trauner is still in recovery from an Achilles injury, while Gijs Smal picked up an injury during the pre-season friendly against Nice. The situation regarding Argentine striker Julian Carranza is being managed cautiously after he missed last weekend's friendly against Wolfsburg.
Justin Bijlow is lacking match fitness and will consequently miss the first few games of the season, as announced by manager Robin van Persie last week. Thomas Beelen, who suffered a serious knee injury during pre-season, will be sidelined for the upcoming months.
Ahmedhodzic eligible
New centre-back Anel Ahmedhodzic is eligible to compete against Fenerbahce. The Bosnian defender transferred to Feyenoord from Sheffield United in a deal that was finalized on Tuesday. The Rotterdam club successfully registered him in time for Tuesday's Champions League match.
In addition to Tsuyoshi Watanabe, Ahmedhodzic will be the only other centre-back available in the matchday squad. Feyenoord manager Robin van Persie has indicated that there is a "significant chance" Ahmedhodzic will play against Fenerbahce.
The third-round qualifier between Feyenoord and Fenerbahce will commence on Wednesday, August 6th, at 21:00 CET.
