Iliman Ndiaye’s first-half strike equalized an early Bruno Fernandes penalty awarded to United. Mason Mount put the Red Devils back in front in the second half, but a late own goal equalized for Everton.
Moyes later shared with evertontv: “I'm more satisfied with tonight's match than I was with the previous games because we gained something from it.
“However, it wasn't just about the result; the performance was significantly more encouraging. To be honest, we weren't fully prepared in the first two matches in terms of player fitness and availability.
“But we realized that tonight we were closer to resembling an Everton team. In the other matches, we didn't really look that way. So, yes, I'm much happier tonight.”
Garner stood out on the night
Moyes acknowledged he was impressed by James Garner's display against his former team.
“I thought Jimmy was probably our standout player in many respects,” the manager added. “I felt he grew into the match as it progressed and kept pushing.
“Some of them have played 90 minutes, while others haven't. A few have had to play more 90s than we would prefer due to the current lack of depth in the squad.
“But overall, I'm genuinely pleased. I thought Jimmy certainly had his best performance, and it resembled the Jimmy I know tonight.”
