Manchester United aims to sell Hojlund for £30 million! They remain confident in securing Sesko for £90 million without needing to sell players first.

According to a report from the authoritative BBC, Manchester United is preparing to sell Danish forward Hojlund for £30 million. Simon Stone revealed that although the 22-year-old striker scored against Bournemouth, he approached waiting British media after the match, stating that he should have scored twice and expressed his desire to stay with the team.

Manchester United is actively seeking to sign Slovenian striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig, but the situation is complicated as Newcastle United also considers him a top choice and has made an initial bid. It is reported that Leipzig has already rejected Newcastle's offer of €80 million (approximately £70 million).

According to "Sporting News," Newcastle's specific bid was €75 million as a fixed amount, plus €5 million in performance-related add-ons, which Leipzig did not accept, indicating that Sesko's price will be higher. The Manchester Evening News states that the Bundesliga club's asking price could reach £79 million (€90 million).

Rumors in Slovenia suggest that Sesko prefers to join Newcastle, but Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano emphasizes that the player has not made a decision yet. He will take time to think it over and discuss it with his family and agent before making a choice. Romano stated, "Sesko will make a final decision soon. Newcastle informed Leipzig last week that they are willing to meet the club's demands and the player's terms. Manchester United is also still in contact with Leipzig; if Sesko chooses them, they will make an offer."

On Saturday, RB Leipzig faced Atalanta in a friendly match, and Sesko was not included in the squad. Club sporting director Marcel Sabitzer explained, "Due to strong interest from several clubs, we decided not to field him today. When I say we've received significant interest from many clubs, and they have approached us directly, you should understand what that means. However, I must clarify that this does not mean he has joined another club, nor does it mean Benjamin (Sesko) won't play next week."

Typically, when a player is on the verge of a transfer, the team does not use them, partly because they might struggle to focus and partly to avoid injuries that could affect the sale. However, the situation with Manchester United and Hojlund is different, as the Dane needs to prove himself, and Amrabat has no other strikers available due to Zirkzee's injury.

If Manchester United signs a new striker, Sesko, Hojlund's position will become marginalized, as the former is three months younger than the latter! However, if Manchester United sells Hojlund for £30 million, it will result in a loss on paper. United brought him in from Atalanta for £72 million two years ago, with £63 million as a fixed fee; now, due to his five-year contract, his book value is £43 million.

During this summer transfer window, Manchester United has already spent over £133 million on Cunha and Mbeumo. However, insiders insist that the club does not need to sell players first to raise funds and can still sign Sesko. Firstly, the signings of Cunha and Mbeumo were both made on an installment basis, with payments spread over the next two to three years.

The Red Devils also pointed out that although Rashford's loan to Barcelona incurs no rental fee, Barcelona pays his full salary, saving Manchester United £12 million. Additionally, last season's loan of Sancho and the loans of Rashford, Antony, and Malacia in the second half of the season have also saved costs.

Furthermore, through the secondary transfer clauses of youth players Elanga, Alvaro Fernandes Carreras, and Ojeidler, Manchester United has received £20.7 million in income, while Chelsea compensated £5 million for "returning" Sancho.

Moreover, after Sir Jim Ratcliffe's two rounds of major layoffs, the staff count has been reduced by a third. Not only that, but during the calculation period for the Premier League's PSR profitability and sustainability rules over the next three years, the income of the highest-paid Casemiro will largely not be counted, as his contract expires next summer.

Of course, Manchester United still needs to sell Sancho, Garnacho, Antony, and Malacia, but they do not have to sell them first to continue making signings. Club insiders emphasize that Ratcliffe and the INEOS team need to sell some first-team players in the coming year.
